Well it was delayed by only one week, but today (11/03/2015) Fedora 23 was released. Of course as soon as I had dropped off the kids at school, I came home and prepared for the upgrade.
Fedora made it really easy to upgrade by using the DNF upgrade plugin. Basically the whole process can be done on the command line. So I decided to try the entire process remotely over SSH.
So I opened up the laptop and logged into my server via SSH. Once logged in I performed the below listed steps. 35 minutes latter, The whole process was completed without any issues.
- Update my current system:
sudo def updatethen
- Install the dnf update plugin:
sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
- Download the update:
sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=23 --best
- Preform upgrade:
sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
